Societe Generale, one of the leading banks in Ghana, has opened an ultramodern branch at Dansoman in Accra.
The branch, which is situated in Hansonic area, near Yegola Hotel Junction, will offer customers MoneyGram service, Western Union and RIA money remittance service.
It will also have an in-lobby ATM for VISA and GH Link and Master Card.
It will further offer products such as retail account investment, insurance products, overdrafts, loans and privileged banking services.
Sionle Yeo, Managing Director of Societe Generale, in his remarks, said the bank is currently expanding its branch network systems to various strategic communities in Ghana as part of its effort to bring modern banking services to the doorsteps of its clients and prospective customers.
He reiterated the bank’s commitment to providing quality products and services that would satisfy the needs of customers by employing the highest standards in commitment, responsibility, team spirit and innovation.
He urged staff of the Dansoman Branch to work assiduously to justify the confidence the bank has reposed in them.
Emmanuel Boakye, Head of Licensing, who represented the Bank of Ghana (BoG), commended SG-Ghana for taking the initiative to bring enhanced services closer to the doorsteps of customers and prospective clients.
He said the financial sector played a crucial role in the development process by providing the needed finances for growth and economic wellbeing of the nation.
Mr Boakye said it was important for financial institutions to adopt innovative strategies to strengthen the sector in order to provide the needed capital for entrepreneurs.
He therefore called on banks to deploy the right ICT infrastructure to enhance their operations and put in place controls to manage risks efficiently in order to remain relevant.
