Celebrated gospel music icon, Superintendent Kofi Sarpong, has officially launched his upcoming gospel musical concert dubbed ‘SP Sarpong Live In Concert’ slated for the National Theatre on May 28, 2017.

The event which is being organised by Media Excel Productions will bring together award-winning gospel music giants on one platform to entertain Ghanaian gospel music fans.

According to Kofi Sarpong, the concert is being organised to promote his brand as a gospel artiste, as well as to raise funds to support the registration of 5,000 children in some deprived areas for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Speaking at the media launch of the concert held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, SP Kofi Sarpong stated that the concert will showcase spectacular performances from seasoned and anointed  gospel stars like Nacee, Ohemaa Mercy, Joyce Blessing, Gifty Osei, Abena Ruthy, Francis Amoh, Obaapa Christy, Ceccy Twum, Uncle Ato, Kingz Kid, Niella and a host of others.

The concert was launched by Ernest Kwasi Ennin, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Media Excel Productions.

Ernest Kwesi Ennin explained that the new wave and trend in the Ghana gospel music industry, coupled with the large contemporary Christian population in Ghana, has created huge followers and fan base for modern gospel musicians in Ghana.

He explained that some local gospel artistes in the country have emerged as very strong brands, rubbing shoulders with their secular counterparts in terms of general appeal.

He added, “One of such brands we have in Ghana is the all-time police officer cum gospel musician SP Kofi Sarpong, popularly referred to as the King of African Borborbor.

With a huge following, he has established himself and his brand as a gospel authority in Ghana and beyond.”
