Tamale Chief Defers Sub-Chief’s Sex Case

Dakpema Naa Dawuni Alhassan

The Chief of Tamale, Dakpema Naa Dawuni Alhassan, has deferred a case filed by Mohammed Aboagye, a known National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist, against the entertainment chief, Hafiz Mohammed, who is also known as Deema Naa.

According to him, Mohammed Hafiz had filed a suit at court and so he cannot take any decision until the court delivers its verdict.

Alhaji Mohammed Rashid, spokesperson of the Dakpema Chief of Tamale, told DAILY GUIDE that the host of the show said that Mohammed Hafiz’s statements had been misconstrued.

“Deema Naa is not above the law and if he is found guilty of wrong doing, then Dakpema will punish him but for now we cannot say anything about the case.”

Alhaji Mohammed Rashid noted that Deema Naa had filed the suit to clear his name in court.

A resident, who spoke to DAILY GUIDE, said “for now we cannot disrespect the decision of the Dakpema because he is the chief of Tamale but we are not happy with the way in which they are handling the case.”

According to some residents, “In our locality, when the chief speaks, we all respect him but we thought he would take a decision on this case than the court.”

Dakpema Naa Mahamadu earlier summoned the Deema Naa, who is alleged to have boasted about having had sex with about half of the ladies in Tamale during a radio interview.

The chief said he had instructed his subjects to investigate the matter.

Reports said that some youth in Tamale, led by Mohammed Aboagye, went to the Tamale chief’s palace to demand the removal of Hafiz Mohammed.

According to the youth, Mohammed Hafiz played a role in the banishment of one Kamil Khamis in the Tamale sex scandal some years back and for that matter he (Deema Naa) should also face punishment for his comments.

They alleged that during the programme on radio, the host asked him (Deema Naa) whether there were many ladies in Tamale when he first came to Tamale, but Deema Naa said that he had finished half of Tamale women.
