There is high security presence at the ongoing parliamentary primaries in the Tema East Constituency of the Greater Accra Region.
The security personnel are made up of both police and military personnel as well as national security operatives who are proving protection for the election.
Tema East was reported to be one of the areas the state security as described as hotspots in the Greater Accra Region.
A total of 767 delegates are expected to cast their votes to select a parliamentary candidate for the NPP ahead of the December 7, 2020 General Elections.
Hon. Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area and Deputy Minister of Transport is being strongly challenged by Dr. Benjamin Armah Ashietey who lost the last primary held in the area to the MP who is seeking a third term as a legislator.
Titus-Glover polled 329 against 274 ballots obtained Dr. Benjamin Ashittey Armah.
Albeit the tension in the area, the election is going smoothly when DGN online visited some polling stations in th constituency.
