The Executive Director of The Influential Woman Foundation (TIWOF), Ezra Abena Baah, has stated that her foundation is dedicated to providing resources for girls in rural communities to address environmental challenges, reduce poverty and promote social justice.

Speaking with journalists at the launch of TIWOF, Abena Baah noted that her inspiration to empower women was born out of the hardship she encountered at her formative age as a young girl.

According to her, she has been through a lot as a young girl, from a rich home to a poor girl who, against all odds has managed to climb the ladder of greatness to influence society.

“Three years in running The Influential Woman Foundation has made a meaningful impact on women in various sectors. They are trained in various handiworks and menstrual hygiene education and this forms part of our empowerment drive,” she said.

Ezra Abena Baah further stated that the foundation, since its inception has launched 11 projects which include Street Max, Pinktober for breast cancer screening, and menstrual hygiene products among other projects initiated for women.

TIWOF aims to engage more women across the country, but insufficient resources to extend the empowerment drive have limited the foundation. We are calling on the government, non-governmental organisations and benevolent individuals to come to our aid to touch more lives,” she added.

According to Ezra Abena Baah, this year’s Street Max is set to take shape this christmas and will provide a total of 500 food and other consumables to street children in Accra.

President of Pali Centre for Transformative Leadership, Frank Papa Kwabena Kumi, on his part urged the executive members of the foundation to keep faith in Christ in their quest to empower the underprivileged in society.

“I encourage you all that in your quest to empower society, ensure that in everything that you do, you keep faith in God. This is because you may face a lot of internal and external challenges, which if not addressed could cripple the functions of the foundation,” he said.

Mr. Kwabena Kumi encouraged the leadership of TIWOF to go the extra mile in shaping the lives of women to better serve the country.
