Tottenham Investigating Bissouma Inhaling Nitrous Oxide Footage

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed they are reviewing allegations that midfielder Yves Bissouma was filmed inhaling nitrous oxide, following the publication of a video by The Sun.

The footage reportedly shows the 29-year-old Mali international using the substance, commonly referred to as laughing gas or NOS.

This is not the first time Bissouma has been caught in such controversy. The midfielder, who joined Tottenham from Brighton in a £30 million deal in 2022, was handed a one-match club ban in 2023 after being photographed inhaling nitrous oxide. He later apologised, admitting he had shown a “severe lack of judgement.”

Recreational possession of nitrous oxide has been illegal in the UK since 2023, carrying penalties of up to two years in prison.

Bissouma, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the current season, has endured a turbulent spell at Spurs.

He has not featured since Thomas Frank took over as manager in June and was omitted from the squad for the UEFA Super Cup clash against Paris Saint-Germain in August due to repeated lateness.

His season has also been hampered by ankle and knee injuries, adding to a challenging campaign both on and off the pitch.
