Vanessa Gyan, a TV and radio personality, on Saturday visited the family of Junior, the three-year-old boy who was hospitalised after the father whipped him with a belt and cable for bedwetting.
A couple of weeks ago, reports indicated that Junior was admitted at the Manhyia Government Hospital in the Ashanti Region after being severely beaten by his father, Ebenezer Osei Bonsu, for wetting his bed.
According to the reports, similar punishment had been meted out to Junior on a number of times by his father, who was later arrested.
Vanessa Gyan surprised Junior and his 26-year-old mother with a care package on Saturday.
Among the items she gave the kid were building blocks, toddler briefs, clothes and more.
“First and foremost I have to thank David Kwaku Saforo Sakyi of Citi TV for connecting me with Junior’s mother. When I read the story, my first reaction was, ‘I hope Junior is okay and this doesn’t affect him in a long term…,” she told NEWS-ONE on Tuesday.
“As a mom of an almost three-year-old who has gone through the potty training stage, it’s not an easy stage but it’s one that needs patience. It doesn’t happen overnight. We are grooming and teaching our children so we must have patience and always protect our little ones. I also have to say a big thank you to Alexis Esi, the CEO of Baby Bliss GH. When I reached out to her to create Junior’s care package, she didn’t hesitate to add extra goodies for little Junior,” she continued.
Vanessa Gyan is the CEO of The Sincerely, Vee Foundation which has two initiatives ? ‘The Post Pregnancy Boujie Express’ dedicated to reproductive and maternal health awareness and ‘The Focus On Your Education Programme’ which assists in supporting young women in college.
She is also the founder of Modern Day Mom, Ghana’s premiere mummy lifestyle hub.
