Varsity Students Cautioned

Prof Frank John Eshun

The Vice Chancellor of Takoradi Technical University (TTU), Prof. Frank John Eshun has cautioned the students to eschew laziness, procrastination, examination malpractices and other negative tendencies that would prevent them from getting the best out of their university education.

He noted that under the university’s Semester Course Unit System, the students were required to work hard, attend all lectures and tutorials and complete all continuous assessment work given to them.

“The University does not compromise on examination malpractices. The culprits would be dismissed from the university. I am therefore urging all students to take their studies seriously”, he affirmed.

Professor Eshun said this when he officially admitted 3,425 fresh students to pursue various Degrees, Higher National Diploma and Certificate programmes at the university yesterday.

He disclosed that the university received a total of 5,683 applications for the 2016/2017 academic year out of which 3,425 were offered admission.

Prof Eshun urged the students to use the freedom that comes with tertiary education to their advantage rather than wasting time on unprofitable ventures; informing them that the university operates an open policy so they can use appropriate channels to resolve issues.

“I do not expect students of this university to behave in a manner that will bring the image of the university into disrepute. In the event of any development that threatens your happy stay on campus, feel free to use the channels of communication available to you”, he elaborated.

The Vice Chancellor of TTU pledged to create conducive environment, provide the needed resources and a focused leadership for the students to achieve their dreams.

“Be worthy ambassadors of the university not forgetting to reciprocate the sacrifice of your parents and guardians, with excellent performance”, he stressed.
