Noella Wiyaala, the young singer and songwriter, will perform at the Womad International Arts Festival in the UK on Friday, July 29.
She will rock the stage alongside renowned Ghanaian highlife artiste Pat Thomas and the Kwasibu Area Band who are also currently on Europe tour.
Commenting on the event, Wiyaala says she is very excited because it’s yet another chance to promote Ghanaian culture to an European audience in a positive way.
In addition to Womad Art Festival, Wiyaala is, again, billed to perform at a number of events in Europe in August alongside some selected international acts.
The award-winning singer is expected back in Ghana in September for a major show in Accra.
Frequently compared to Angelique Kidjo, she infuses her African roots into contemporary pop to create Afro-pop.
With four nominations, including Best West African Female at the All African Music Awards 2014, Wiyaala is set to infuse an absorbing show with songs from her new album.
Wiyaala emerged as a solo artiste in 2013 and released two video hit singles on the Djimba World Label, ‘Make Me Dance’ and ‘Rock My Body’, which were both nominated for awards in the Best Discovery and the Best Reggae/Dancehall categories in Ghana’s 4Syte TV Music Video Awards for 2013.
