The deceased
Two members of the Jomoro Municipal Assembly lost their lives in a ghastly accident that occurred last Monday.
The two were traveling back home after taking part in a meeting meant to confirm the president’s nominee for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
The deceased persons were identified as Francis Armoh of Alaboale Electoral Area and Ransford Otuo Darko of Elubo West Electoral Area.
The two were on a motorbike from Tikobo No. 1 heading to their various homes, and while on their way, their motorbike collided with a Toyota Rav 4 vehicle, killing them on the spot.
According to information gathered, one of the deceased was trapped under the Rav 4 vehicle while the other somersaulted severally in the process.
Benedict Boadi, the Jomoro National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Organiser, was nominated by President John Mahama for the MCE position.
He, however, failed to secure the required votes to become the next MCE at the assembly’s meeting last Monday.
Currently, the confirmation exercise of the president’s nominee has been put on hold.
The Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has since visited and commiserated with the bereaved families.
