DAILY GUIDE has learnt that some two school children have been shot dead in the Bawku Municipality, in the Upper East Region, in the early hours of Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
The two are 12-year-old Yahaya Aisha, a class six pupil of Buabula Primary School and nine-year-old Hafiz Awudu Agobire, also a pupil of Hassania Islamic Primary School.
As at 12 noon on Wednesday, there was no information on whom or which group killed these children in that gruesome manner. It is equally not clear why they were shot dead.
Meanwhile, some three houses and five pavilions have also been burnt, while six cattle were also killed in a bizarre manner, according to a DAILY GUIDE informant.
According to the informant, many people are fleeing from the Bawku Municipality by night, while teachers and other public workers who went for Christmas break have still not returned to the area, claiming they are afraid of the insecurity in the area.
“Living in Bawku is becoming dangerous; everyone is scared and always alert. You can’t tell what will happen the next moment. Some people have lost their lives due to stray bullets and direct attacks. The security can get better for some time and worse another time,” the informant disclosed.
