2 Teenage Robbers Arrested At Salaga

Abukari Seidu, 17 years old and Umaru Alidu, 15, have been arrested by the Salaga police for allegedly robbing Osmanu Mahamudu Nyade, a 53-year-old farmer, at gun point.

The suspects purportedly attacked and robbed the victim of his motorbike and a mobile phone at Kparibe, near Salaga in the East Gonja District of the Northern Region.

Information available to this paper indicates that the suspects were apprehended when they were offering the motorbike and the phone for sale.

A search conducted on them reportedly led to the recovery of two locally manufactured pistols with live cartridges.

The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, who confirmed the arrests to DAILY GUIDE, said the suspects were nabbed shortly after they had robbed their victim.

According to him, Abukari Seidu and Umaru Alidu would be charged with conspiracy to commit crime and robbery as well as possession of fire arms and ammunition without lawful authority and put before court.

He cautioned parents to monitor their children, especially those who use expensive materials which are not bought by them (parents).
