The suspects
The Northern Regional Police Command, through an intelligence-led operation, has arrested three suspects for alleged weapon smuggling in Savelugu, in the Northern Region.
The suspects are Gaba Abdallah Alhassan, Alhassan Abdallah, and Alhassan Abdul Kudus.
According to police, the suspects were arrested on May 1, 2025 from their respective hideouts.
Police also retrieved from suspects one (1) AK-47 rifle, one (1) SMG, one (1) Smith & Wesson SD40 VE pistol, one (1) single-barrel gun, two (2) magazines, fifteen (15) rounds of AK-47 ammunition, thirteen (13) rounds of pistol ammunition, an additional twenty-seven (27) rounds of ammunition, and five (5) rounds of BB cartridges.
The suspects are currently in police custody, and will be arraigned before court after investigations.
