545 Migrant Children’s Parents Missing

Lawyers in the US have reported that the parents of some 545 migrant children cannot be traced.

It would be recalled that migrant kids were separated from their parents in 2017 and 2018 under President Donald Trump’s administration.

The administration’s “zero tolerance” border policy during 2017 and 2018 saw the separation of at least 4,200 children from their parents.

And the lawyers tasked with the responsibility of identifying and reuniting the families, have stated that they are yet to identify the parents of the 545 kids.

A Tuesday, October 21 court filing from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), made the disclosure.

ACLU lawyer, Lee Gelernt, in a tweet, said: “We just reported tonight to the court in #aclu case that we still cannot find parents of 545 kids separated by Trump admin – some just babies when taken years ago. We will not stop till we find EVERY one.”

In an earlier interview with the media, Mr Gelernt says “people as when we will find all of these families and, sadly, I can’t give an answer.”
