Royal MMR Hospital Opens In Dansoman

The Royal MMR Hospital in its quest to bring quality healthcare delivery closer to the reach of more people in the Greater Accra Region has opened a new branch at the Dansoman Beach Road.
The opening of the new branch brings to four the number of Royal MMR Hospitals in the capital.
The NHIS accredited hospital which will provide healthcare in general services and special clinics is expected to serve the people of Dansoman and other communities.  Among the healthcare services to be offered include in/out patient care, antenatal/delivery, pharmacy, laboratory series, surgeries, circumcision, immunisation and scan.
The specialised clinics will also provide care in cancer, kidney, paediatrics, obstetrics and genaecology, dental, hypertension and diabetes.
Addom Seme disclosed that the hospitals started as a philanthropic work to care for children in need of medical care. He said after several trip to hospitals in the capital to seek medical attention for the children, he had an idea to start his own medical facility to make it easier for the treatment of the beneficiary children.
“So, I put up a hospital in Dome Pillar 2 when I started running that I realised it was working so I decided to set up a hospital at Sukurah to help the community,  then the Ashaiman Community Hospital and then here as well. This is an improvement on all the others because we have the theatres separately, dialysis machine and we want to give them the best of care here,” he said.
Mr Seme added that his aim is to provide communities that do not have access to healthcare with total quality health service, hence the hospital will be embarking on various health activities that is aimed at disease prevention and proper family planning.
“We do not want to wait when people get sick then we treat then so we are going to do a lot of medical screening around because we want to have a community based health centre,” he said.
He stated that all things being equal, the he would be opening another branch at Kasoa next year.
Dr Sylvia Anie, Health Facility Regulatory Agency, Chief Executive and Registrar, expressed his happiness, adding that Royal MMR Hospital was serving community with affordable quality healthcare services.
She, however, encouraged them to speak up and seek early medical attention to avoid preventable deaths.
