Who Heads BA?

Information reaching DAILY GUIDE indicates that some persons in the Brong Ahafo Region are fervently lobbying for the position of Brong Ahafo Regional Minister.

Notable among them are the current Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Ansomah Kyremeh, Regional Secretary of the party, Afred Ofori Anyeh and Tuah Yeboah, a young and energetic lawyer, who is also the Regional Chairman of the Ghana Bar Association.

DAILY GUIDE has gathered that these individuals are currently lobbying and shuttling between the Flagstaff House and Sunyani in order to secure the post.

The Brong Ahafo Region is the second largest region in the country after the Northern Region.

Lawyer Ansomah Kyeremeh is said to have the full backing of most of the party’s members.

The paper gathered that before the December elections, Mr Ansomah was tasked to deliver 15 parliamentary seats to the party out of the 29 in the region.

The astute lawyer, who has practiced for over 20 years, was able to capture 20 seats from the NDC.

Lawyer Tuah Yeboah is also one of the vibrant young lawyers of the party in the region and has always sought interpretation from the Supreme Court in matters relating to the party. He has the backing of many young people in the party.

Recently, he filed a suit in the Supreme Court to take a look at the remission of the sentences of the Montie trio.

Currently, he heads Asempa Chambers at Sunyani.

Both Lawyers are products of Sunyani Secondary School, University of Ghana, Legon and the Ghana Law School.

Lawyer Ansumah is the head of Henewaa Chambers also at Sunyani.

The third contender, Afred Anye, the regional secretary of the party, is also a young professional teacher and was one time Municipal Coordinator to the National Youth Employment during erstwhile Kufour administration.

He is said to have worked hard for the party to emerge victorious.

Sources told the paper that Lawyer Ansomah Kyeremeh, who is the senior brother to the MP for Sunyani East, Lawyer Kweku Cheremey, the majority chief whip in the current parliament, is likely to become the next Brong Ahafo Regional Minister.
