Pro-Life Pharmacy has donated medical equipment to the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) Hospital at Teshie.

The items donated which include wheel chairs, oxygen cylinders, nebulisers and oximeters are to offer quality healthcare to the patients of the hospital.

Edward Sagoe, Administrator, LEKMA Hospital, who received the items, expressed appreciation to the pharmacy for the support.

The equipment, he said would, go a long way to help the hospital, stating that “our catchment area is very large and we need these things almost readily available to our patients.”

Mr Sagoe pointed out that the hospital received such a support based on a request they sent out to some companies in the community.

“Somewhere last year, we identified some needs and we thought it wise to send a request to some companies for support and Pro-Life Pharmacy happens to be one of the companies,” he said.

Touching on some of the challenges of the hospital, he said, “Our most challenge here is lack of medical doctors which leads to patients waiting for a longer time at the hospital. Lack of equipment is also a challenge. Currently, there is pressure on the little that we have due to the large number of patience that visits the hospital.”

He, therefore, called on corporate organisations and government to support the hospital to overcome some of its challenges.

Benjamin Neequaye, Managing Director of Pro-Life Pharmacy, said the equipment were donated to the hospital based on the request they received.

“We have a good working relationship with them so when they brought their request we decided to support them. We started supporting the hospital since 2014 as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility,” he stated.

He assured that the pharmacy would continue to offer its support to the hospital to ensure quality healthcare delivery to the patients.

Pro-Life Pharmacy which was established in 2002 is into retail of pharmaceuticals. It currently has two branches with a workforce of 31.
