SWIFT RESPONSE by the Ajumako Police has led to the arrest of some four suspected armed robbers who allegedly attacked a house at Ajumako in the AjumakoEnyan-Essiam (AEE) of the Central Region.

The four suspects were Daniel Otumfuo, 25, Kobina Antwi, 20, Desmond Zinyir, 25, and Eric Amissah, 36.

They were said to have broken into the house and made away with an unregistered Toyota Corolla and other valuables. They were tracked by the police and reportedly intercepted at Owomasi, a village near Breman Asikuma in the same region.

According to information available to DAILY GUIDE, on July 27, 2018, at about 11pm, the Ajumako police patrol team swiftly responded to a distress call. According to the call, about four masked men used a cement block to forcibly open a room and attacked one Emmanuel Abban alias Joe with machetes and a jackknife but he managed to escape to a nearby thicket for safety.

The four criminals took away the victim’s phone, unregistered Toyota Corolla with DV No.144A-18 and other valuable items. The police gave the suspects a hot chase and sent wireless messages around.

Fortunately, the four suspects were in the Toyota Corolla when they were intercepted at Owomasi near Breman Asikuma where some residents arrested and inflicted some wounds on them before handing them over to the Asikuma police together with the car. The Asikuma police later handed them over to the Ajumako police to continue with investigations.

The suspects were sent to the Ajumako District Hospital where they were treated and discharged.

Items found on them included a jackknife, three mobile phones and a bag.

Meanwhile, the four suspects are currently in police custody assisting in investigations. The impounded car is yet to be brought to the Ajumako Police Station.
