Emmanuel Ohememg, artiste manager and event organiser, has announced plans of organising a two-day music seminar for Ghanaian artistes, music publishers and stakeholders in the music industry in Ghana.
The seminar which takes place in Accra and Kumasi by the close of the year is under the theme: “Ghanaian Music Stakeholders: Transition into Foreign Markets”.
The seminar is expected to provide concrete guidelines to marketing Ghanaian music internationally.
It will feature renowned music professionals and some selected industry stakeholders who understand the importance of music.
He said the seminar will provide music producers, publishers and other stakeholders with insight and knowledge about how music is created, marketing and distribution of musical works, artiste management, copyright law among others.
According to him, the yet-to-be organised seminar will help music stakeholders to adopt strategies that would help them to push Ghanaian music to the global market.
He disclosed that the seminar will cover areas on relative aspects of the Copyright Act, Act 690, LI 1962, collective management administration, new piracy strategies, enforcement partnership and discuss royalty collection processes.
Invitation will be extended to 200 music stakeholders to participate in the two-day seminar, this reporter has gathered.
The seminar will be climaxed with a free musical jam at a venue to be announced later which will witness performances some selected performing artistes.
