Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce Supports Lekma Hospital

The Ghana Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Chamber of Commerce has donated food items to frontline medical staff of the Lekma Hospital.

The items included 400 units of essential consumables including rice, sunflower oil and milk.

The donation, according to the team, is aimed at keeping the morale of the frontline medical staff high since it is a key to the wellbeing of their patients.

The chamber chairman, Jacky Chen, led the delegation to present the items.

The Secretary General of the Association of Ghana Chinese Societies and Vice President of the Chamber, Stephen Shun, who presented the items to the hospital, said the charitable act was facilitated by the members of the Chamber.

He said this is to let every medical staff feel the sincere support from their Chinese friends in this difficult period.

Dr Akua Gyimah-Asante, Acting Medical Superintendent of the hospital who received the items, said the health facility was grateful to Ghana Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Chamber of Commerce for their support.

She revealed that the hospital has had several collaborations and support in diverse ways from the Chinese government.

“As part of our friendship, some of our health workers are currently studying in China and every year the Chinese government brings in doctors to this health facility to support us.

We are grateful to them for once again thinking about our frontline workers and donating the items to motivate us.”

Also present were deputy chairman Rainbow Lin, director Jewel Chen, representatives of China Medical Team, Dr, Benjamin Anyagre of Ghana china friendship Association and others .
