TEMA STARTED voting in this year’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections with strict COVID-19 prevention measures in force.
Prospective voters had formed long winding queues as early as 5:00 a.m. local time waiting for the registration officials to commence the exercise at 7:00 a.m.
A visit to some of the registration centers in the Tema East Constituency and its environs by DGN Online, early in the morning saw officials setting up the polling centers for the commencement of the exercise.
At the Twedaase Junior High School (JHS) Registration Centre in Tema Community 1, the exercise commenced with prospective voters adhering to the COVID-19 safety protocols before being made to go through the registration process.
Jeremiah Yao Agbenyegah who was among the early people to have been voting process and voted told DGN online that the exercise was smooth and less time-consuming.
According to him, “I spent less than 5 minutes to go through the voting process. If the process will continue like this every four years it’ll be better. I am now happy that I have voted and looking forward for my favorite presidential and parliamentary candidates to emerge victorious”
Scores of potential voters massed up at the premises of Oninku Drive Primary and Padmore Street Primary Schools to exercise their franchise in the Tema East Constituency.
The atmosphere in Chemu SHS polling station polling was similar to the Republic Road Primary School at Community 4 as well as Community 8 No. 1 Basic School, all in the Tema Central Constituency where calm was encountered during the exercise.
