Ashanti Minister Gets Award

THE SIGNIFICANT contributions of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, in the proper development of the Ashanti Region, has been recognised.

Save Ghana Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) specialising in ensuring peace, protection of human rights and justice, among others, has rewarded him.

In a citation, which was presented to the minister, the NGO particularly commended Mr. Osei Mensah for his tireless efforts in maintaining the peace and oneness in the region so far.

They also saluted the Ashanti Regional Minister for his roles in helping to bring massive transformation into the region during his first term as the minister.

“As chairman of the Regional Security Council, you have worked in ensuring peace in the region,” Mr. Kofi Agyei, President of Save Ghana Foundation, pointed out.

Describing the minister as hardworking, he said Mr. Osei Mensah’s efforts had contributed to the promotion of education, security, health, sanitation and others.

According to Kofi Agyei, his group was impressed by the minister’s performance so they decided to honour him with a citation to ginger him to sustain his positive works.

A patron of the NGO, Nana Kwabena Boadi Soadwa, Kyidomhene of Atwima Akosomo, gave thumbs up for the minister and urged other ministers to emulate him.

He also urged government to deepen its collaboration with traditional authorities in the country in order to help accelerate national development for the masses to enjoy.

Mr. Osei Mensah, who has been reappointed as Ashanti Regional Minister by the President, said he cherished the opportunity to serve his people with humility and respect.
