Kojo Wadosty
After coming out with two catchy singles in 2021, Kojo Wadosty’s confidence level as a musician has continued to rise.
He released a fresh track titled ‘The Feeling’ last Friday, January 28 and it features Kofi Kinaata. Like the two previous songs, ‘The Feeling’ tries to embolden people to carefully evaluate their lives and make the best choices for themselves.
“I felt this was a good moment to bring something new. Life goes on everyday so whenever it clicks to record something motivational for the fans, I get into the studio and do it. I’m sure fans will like ‘The Feeling’ and the message it portrays,” said Kojo Wadosty.
‘The Feeling’ pushes the idea that after people have toiled to earn their living, they must take some time off to enjoy the fruits of their labour.
The song was produced by Stillvybeznebeatz. It has a danceable feel which sits well with the message that relaxation and enjoyment should constantly be part of us.
Both Kojo Wadosty and Kofi Kinaata are eloquent, with the famous Takoradi take on the Fante language, so there’s plenty of that in the song to admire.
That doesn’t pose a problem at all for those who may understand the Fante being played around with in the song. There’s a feel-good flavour about the track that seems to grab everyone who listens to it.
The guitar phrases seem familiar but they are played in a sprightly manner that evokes some amount of sweet nostalgia.
A certain sense of recollection also strays into Kojo Wadosty’s lyrics as he pulls in snatches of stuff by Terry Bonchaka and Papa Shee. To him, the not-too-distant past had some delightful items that still make listeners happy whenever they hear it again.
According to Kojo Wadosty, music is one of the main ways through which people assert their identity. It is therefore better for Ghanaian musicians to stick to and explore what’s theirs rather than attempting to copy approaches from elsewhere.
“You can never be as good as the one you are imitating. The best way forward is to look to our own backyard and pick what’s best to aid our march forward,” Kojo Wadosty stressed.
‘The Feeling’ is available on all major digital music platforms.
