Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen is set to reveal his political future during a scheduled press conference on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 2pm.
The former Trade Minister who finished third in the super delegates conference of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer selection has been the subject of much speculation since he withdrew from the November 4 conference.
Mr.Kyerematen alleged bias on the part of the party’s leadership in favour of a specific candidate, leading to pundits to believe he may cut ties with the NPP and chart his own course for the presidency as an independent candidate.
This may also spell doom for his political future key members of his decide not follow him to decamp to his new enterprise.
However, there is also the possibility that he may continue his political journey within the party and throw his support behind one of the remaining four candidates vying for the coveted flagbearer position.
Mr. Kyerematen’s future intentions have remained a mystery until now, but the veil of uncertainty will be lifted when he reveals his plans in less than 2 hours time.
The announcement is highly anticipated, given Mr.Kyerematen’s strong track record as a former Trade Minister and his popularity among many Ghanaians.
He is seen as a potentially strong contender for the presidency and his decision will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the political landscape going forward.
