Government Urges Ghanaians To Flee Lebanon

 

Government has urged Ghanaians residing in Lebanon to leave the country immediately due to the rapidly unfolding crisis and potential danger.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, the government said the deteriorating security situation in Lebanon has raised concerns about the safety of Ghanaian nationals.

It therefore encouraged Ghanaians to take advantage of the limited available flights and exit the country.

“Considering the deteriorating situation, the Government of Ghana encourages all Ghanaian nationals in Lebanon to take advantage of the limited available flights in Lebanon to immediately leave the country,” the statement stressed.

To facilitate a smooth departure, the government is asking all Ghanaians without travel documents to contact the Embassy of Ghana in Cairo, Egypt, or the Ghana Honorary Consulate in Beirut, Lebanon, to obtain Emergency Travel Certificates.

Those requiring assistance with Exit Permits can also reach out to the Embassy or Consulate, the statement added.

The government underscored the importance of prompt action to avoid any emergencies.
