Ghanaian International Mohammed Kudus has been handed an additional two-game ban and a £60,000 fine for violent conduct during West Ham’s 4-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on October 19.
The Incident
Kudus, 23, initially received a yellow card for a foul on Micky van de Ven but escalated the situation by pushing both the Dutch defender and Pape Matar Sarr in the face, sparking a melee in the 82nd minute.
Disciplinary Action
The English Football Association (FA) extended Kudus’ ban from three to five games, making him ineligible to play until December 3 against Leicester City.
West Ham was also fined £30,000 for failing to control their players’ behavior.
Background
Kudus, a key player for Ghana’s national team, has had an impressive start to the season, scoring two goals in eight Premier League appearances.
This incident marks a setback for both Kudus and West Ham, who are struggling to find consistency.
