STRATCOMM Empowers SMEs With Communication Skills

Strategic Communications Africa Ltd. (STRATCOMM Africa), has ended its 2025 edition of Brand Reputation Week, aimed at equipping Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within the agricultural value chain with practical communication skills to improve their businesses.

The event organised in partnership with the Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA) with support from Mastercard Foundation started from Wednesday, November 19, and ended on Friday November 21, 2025.

The three-day capacity training brought together 20 SMEs and provided participants the opportunity to learn how to use digital tools to promote their products through effective communication.

This year’s event also featured presentations, practical workshops, business clinics where participants shared stories of their respective brands and lessons leant during the training to enable them communicate effectively to sell their products.

Products showcased by the participants include detergents, agro processed foods, branded local food products such as Kenkey, fish, orange juice, water melon, granular among several others.

In an interview with the media, the participants commended STRATCOMM Africa for the initiative given the knowledge they have acquired in communication skills to boost their businesses.

One of the beneficiaries of the training programme, Alberta Achaa Agyapong of 10-10 Foodie, who produces granola and cookies made from sesame, almond and cinnamon seeds said, “The training has been an eye-opener, educative and informative.

“There were many things I didn’t consider important in entrepreneurship especially communication skills, but through the programme I have learned how to position my brand to attract both local and foreign buyers. My products need to tell a story, and this can be achieved through effective communication.”

Founder and Chief Executive of STRATCOMM Africa Esther Cobbah, speaking ahead of the closing ceremony said communication is not an add-on to businesses but rather the engine that drives visibility, credibility and sustainable growth.

“Brand Reputation week is part of our commitment to ensuring that SME’s especially those in the agricultural value chain are equipped with the tools they need to communicate effectively in a highly competitive market place,” she stated.

“When SME’s communicate well, they grow and when they grow, communities and economies grow with them,” she added while commending some key partners for their support.

Marketing Communications Manager at STRATCOMM Africa, Samuel Ato Afful, who took the participants through communication needs, shaping brand stories, identifying audiences among others also advised them to put into practice the lessons acquired at the training.
