Plans are underway to establish a major educational and sports development hub in the Atwima Kwanwoma District following a courtesy call by a US-based missionary family on the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mrs. Grace Agyemang Asamoah.

Pastor Tave Close and his wife, Mrs. Hieather Close, from Florida, United States of America, paid a visit to the District Assembly as part of efforts to formally introduce their development-oriented mission to the area. The delegation was led by Mr. Maxwell Donkor.

During the engagement, the visiting family disclosed their intention to acquire a 10-acre parcel of land at Apemanim–Kokoben for the establishment of a comprehensive educational institution, covering levels from crèche through to university. The project, they explained, will also include a modern sports complex aimed at promoting youth development and sports excellence within the district.

According to the couple, the initiative seeks to improve access to quality education, develop young talents, and contribute meaningfully to human capital development in the district.

In addition to the educational and sports components, Pastor Close and his wife indicated plans to undertake missionary activities in the area, including the establishment of a local church to support spiritual growth and moral development in the community.

Welcoming the delegation, Mrs. Asamoah commended the family for their vision and commitment to the development of the district. She assured them of the Assembly’s full support and cooperation to facilitate the successful execution of the project.

The DCE stressed that partnerships of this nature are critical to driving socio-economic transformation and positioning the Atwima Kwanwoma District for sustained growth and development.
