Author Abyna-Ansah Adjei has launched her latest book for children that focused on Ghana’s history from pre-colonial days through to independence.

The book, ‘Grandma Goody’s Story: From Gold Coast to Ghana,’ tells the history of Ghana through the experience of Grandma Goody, mother of Abyna-Ansah Adjei.

The book which comes in a colourful blue cover and large text is aimed at making the learning of history fun for children.

Abyna-Ansah Adjei speaking to the media after the launch of the book at the Flagstaff House Basic School said the book will be teaching children where they came from and how they can make a difference.

“There are so many lessons for kids and I want to inspire them to do great things for Ghana,” she said.

The author, Abyna-Ansaa Adjei, donated 700 copies of the book to the pupils with the hope that corporate bodies would emulate the gesture.

“The last time I launched a book, I made some money so I want to give back to the children this time as they celebrate their last day of term today,” she said.

Professor Angela Ofori-Atta, the wife of the Finance Minister, and Trevor Trefgarne, Group Chairman of Enterprise Group, graced the occasion.

Other books written by Abyna-Ansaa Adjei include Otumfuo Osei Tutu II: King of Gold, Grandma’s story: Ghana is 50, Things every child of Ghana should know – J.B Danquah and Ghana: The story so far.
