Actress and Film Producer Rabby Bray has been awarded the ‘Woman of the Year’ at the first-ever Accra Music & Arts Awards.
The ‘Accra Music & Arts Awards’ is an award ceremony that honours excellence in leadership and mentorship in the creative space.
It was held over the weekend at the Grand Casamora Hotel in East Legion, Accra and attracted several dignitaries.
Rabby Bray took home the Woman of the year award, inspiring a lot of young women not to give up in their pursuits to achieve success.
“When you set off on a mission, you would be discouraged and feel like giving up. But, now, I understand it’s part of the process. And, I also understand that if it doesn’t kill you, it will make you stronger. This award is a big encouragement to me and I truly appreciate it. I am humbled and also honoured indeed to receive this award”, she said.
Explaining the criteria for the ‘Woman of the Year award, a member of the organizing body Prince Kwaku Newman said, “The award is given to one who has demonstrated excellent leadership skills within their community and has a visible impact on other members in the said industry and community. One who is dedicated to mentoring within and outside her industry provided support for rising artistes and has been actively engaged in career coaching. Also, should have demonstrated integrity in actions and words, and portrayed an image of strength and confidence that inspires”, he said.
This year, Rabby Bray produced and starred in the movie on unemployment titled ‘Drops of Happiness’ which also featured award-winning Actor Adjetey Anang, and successfully premiered at the Silverbird Cinemas. She also produced her own reality show for upcoming actresses called ‘Rabby’s Starlet’ which also concluded successfully.
