The Adabraka Official Town Branch of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on Saturday undertook a cleanup exercise to rid their locality of filth and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
The cleanup was led by Rev. Tetteh Akunor, the District Minister in-charge of the congregation, Reverend DSP Emelia Nana Yeboah, Second Minister Of The Church, Reverend Thomas Marfo , a Minister, Catechists Kwabena Addo and Mrs Henrietta Frimpong , Presbyters and other Church members.
The cleanup exercise was combined with evangelism to spread the word of God to the Adabraka community as well.
Reverend DSP Emelia Yeboah in an interview with the Daily Guide said it was the moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, who declared that, each congregation should engage in the cleanup exercise.
She said the church had made it a responsibility to educate members on the need to adopt good sanitary conditions.
“Cleanliness is godliness and I must say that this exercise is being held in all Presbyterian churches within the Ga West Presbytery.
Protected with gloves, nose masks and rainboots, the second minister of the Presbyterian Church, Adabraka Official town continued that the exercise started as early as 6:00am.
“We are desilting chocked gutters, cleared bushy surroundings and sweeping through the township, “ she added .
She noted that the exercise was also to send a message to the public to live in a healthy environment adding that “keeping a healthy environment was a shared responsibility.”
She urged the public to support all sanitation campaigns and help keep the cities clean.
Other individuals and organizations that supported the exercise included Zoomlion Ghana, Paper and Ink Company, Virtual Security, the Police CID, as well as other Individuals.
