THE NEW Patriotic Party (NPP) members have been advised to unite as one family with a common destiny to face the impending December 7 elections.
Nana Owusu Afriyie Prempeh, a younger brother of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, the NPP running mate, gave the wise counsel.
According to him, with a united front, the ruling political party’s ambition to break the eight-year governance cycle this year would be attained without difficulty.
In this regard, Nana Owusu, who contested the Manhyia South parliamentary election and lost, has urged his constituents to unite and campaign strongly for the party.
Leading by example, Nana Owusu stated that he would use his resources and energy to campaign for Lawyer Baffuor Awuah, who won the Manhyia South NPP primaries.
“Our internal election in Manhyia South is over now and we all voted for Lawyer Baffuor Awuah so, I’m urging all of us to put the election behind us and campaign for him.
“I’m ready and determined to play active roles to help Lawyer Baffuor Awuah to increase our votes to help Dr. Bawumia and Napo to lead us to break the eight”, he said.
Nana Owusu, who was speaking when he visited the NPP delegates in all the six electoral areas in Manhyia South on Sunday, said the NPP’s interest should supersede every other interest.
According to him, he is expecting the NPP members in Manhyia South to start preaching about the government’s splendid works for the country during the over seven years they have been in power.
Sounding very optimistic, Nana Owusu said the NPP deserved to break the eight based on the party’s positive track record in government, but he was quick to state that “we need unity and hard work to retain power”.
