Fatahiya Abdul Aziz with President Akufo-Addo
Fatahiya Abdul Aziz, a presidential staff , has been elected to represent the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Savelugu constituency in the upcoming 2024 general election.
The presidential staff polled 532 votes beating her opponent Mohammed Abdul Samed Gunu, former Savelugu Member of Parliament who obtained 121 votes.
The elected Parliamentary candidate for the NPP in the Savelugu constituency, called for unity in the party to ensure that party takes back the seat from the NDC come 2024.
“ I want to plead with all of us to come together and unite so that we can take back our seat from the NDC in 2024. I will work together with the former MP and his team in order to break the 8 with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia”.
She thanked the NPP delegates for believing in her and assured that she would not let them down.
In a related development, the New Patriotic Party(NPP) held its parliamentary primaries in other constituencies across the Northern region.
In the Tamale North Constituency- Abdul Rahaman Alidu polled 352 votes while his contender Habibu Adam secured 185 votes.
Tamale Central Constituency- Sule Salifu who is the Tamale Mayor secured 433 votes beating his closest contender Ismail Yahuza who polled 350 while Abass Zakria got 65 votes.
Tamale North Constituency- Musah Fuseini garnered 608 votes beating his closest contender Ibrahim Baba who polled 449 while Alhaasan Mohammed Soawii obtained 41 votes with Baba Alhaasan securing 25 votes.
Kpandai -Mathew Nyindam secured 682 votes
Richard Kwasi Nyamah polled 60 votes with 2 rejected votes.
Wulensi Constituency-Haruna Abdulai polled 280 votes while Thomas Donkor Ogajah obtained 230 votes.
