Songstress Wendy Shay has praised President Akufo-Addo’s government, saying it has done well for Ghanaians.
Speaking on Takoradi-based Empire FM’s Showbiz Today, the ‘Bedroom Commando’ crooner, however, said she does not belong to any political party, indicating that her comment about the current government is not from a biased point of view.
“The NPP has done a lot of good work and is still doing more in the creative arts industry. If you look at some of the things they have done, even not just the creative arts industry, for example, Free SHS, a lot of people have benefitted from the policy,” she stated.
“I have cousins, junior siblings (sic) in the country and they have all been beneficiaries of the Free SHS policy. So Nana Addo has done very well,” Wendy Shay added.
“It is my choice that I will support any political party that will develop Ghana because Ghana comes first for me. And so if it’s NPP that will be elected to help Ghana or if it’s NDC that will develop Ghana, I am in,” she said.
Wendy Shay, real name Wendy Addo, also made a humble appeal to the President to support artistes by way of some stimulus packages to help them cover up for some losses the industry’s key players have made as a result of Covid-19.
