The DCE Addressing The Assembly As The New PM And The Coordinating Director Looks On
THE Assembly Members of Denkyembour District in the Eastern Region have elected Mr. Erasmus K Ali popularly called ‘Asanka Poyoyo’ as the Presiding Member for the Assembly.
Out of the 31 Assembly members, 30 members at the special meeting re-elected Mr. Ali who contested with Charles Anyane, and Charles Ntimoah. He got 21 votes by beating his contenders who had 7 and 2 votes respectively.
The District Chief Executive, Seth Ofosu Birinkorang in his speech, tasked the area Director of Education to take a look at the educational system in the district since the performance of pupils during last BECE was not encouraging.
Erasmus in his acceptance speech pledged to conduct himself in line with the laid down rules of the Assembly in order for the house to take best decisions that would bring change to the inhabitants of the district.
