A scene from the launch of the event
Events Vendors Association of Ghana (EVAG) has official launched the second edition of the annual Ghana Event Industry Conference (GEIC) Gala and Awards Night at the Thea Villa Hotel in Accra.
The awards and gala night, according to the organizers, will take place in Accra on November 5.
The launch, which was attended by a number of personalities in the creative industry as well as members of the association, was performed by Kate Hassan, president of the association.
Ms. Hassan, who launched the event, said the platform was to empower industry players for a better future, hence the theme: “Power Up, Increasing Performance Ability in the Events Industry”.
She reiterated strides made by members of her team in ensuring that this year’s event materialized.
“EVAG has grown and evolved tremendously in two years, courtesy of the executive board and members of the association. To this, we will hold an awards and gala night in honour of our professionals who have significantly excelled and proven their skills even amidst a global pandemic.”
According to her, the Covid-19 pandemic has negatively impacted the Events Industry which necessitates a call on government to recognize the stakeholders since they contribute massively to the country’s GDP.
“We were privileged to have a host of international speakers gracing the first ever GEIC last year in Accra, Ghana. This year, however, due to Covid-19 we are unable to have a full conference package like we previously did,” she said.
She further urged all Ghanaians to assist for the successful execution of the event.
