American Aviation Investor Visits Daily Guide

Eugene M. Chase Jnr and his staff pose with their hosts of the DAILY GUIDE after their discussions

American investor who plans setting up an aircraft assembly plant in Ghana has paid a working visit to the offices of the DAILY GUIDE.

During the visit Eugene M. Chase Jnr told Kwaw Blay and A.R. Gomda both of Western Publications Limited that the necessary paperwork for the project to take off is far advanced.

He said contacts have also been made with the relevant agencies such as the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and the Ghana Air Force.

The multipurpose aircraft are in various grades – the smallest whose price is very affordable does not cost beyond the price of a new Toyota Landcruiser and can be used to take photographs and can perform tasks being done by drones with particular reference to the galamsey war being waged by the government currently at a relatively lower cost.

The smallest of the aircraft could cost between $30,000 and $50,000, the investor who is also an aviator said adding that with a foldable wing it is very convenient to manage.

With an efficient fuel consumption and the ability to be airborne for close to four hours the aircraft can therefore fly to the North and back to Accra on a filled up tank, he went on.

The private aircraft can be piloted by the owner after a twenty hour log of flying, Mr. Chase told his hosts.

The aircraft is cheap to manage and would facilitate the much needed technology transfer to Ghana thereby creating jobs and improving the lives of the people.

Experts, he assured Ghanaians, would come from the parent company in the US to render the necessary expertise in the management of the aircraft.

The company when it is operational by the end of the year, as he said, would be supportive of agricultural production coming handy at a time when the One District One Dam project is gathering steam in the country. Eugene M. Chase Jr. who is a managing partner of Terraform Aviation with investments in Europe and Canada has since returned to the US after a three-day visit to Ghana during which he attended the just-ended Air Show. The country director of Terraform Partners is Joshua Hushie; he said that the company’s free zone project consists of a private international airport in the Dodowa area.

Kwaw Blay expressed interest in the project when it is fully operational.
