Apostolic Holds Women Conference

The Women’s Movement of the Kwashieman Sub Area of the Apostolic Church – Ghana has held its maiden Leadership Conference.

The conference, themed, “Woman as a model of Christ in Leadership,” formed part of the annul activities of the Women’s Movement.

In attendance were close to 200 women comprising pastors’ wives, deaconesses, women leaders and potential leaders who shared leadership skills with the women while encouraging them to serve as role models to their members.

In his presentation, one of the resource persons, Pastor Emmanuel Davidson, in charge of the Kwashieman Sub Area, admonished the women to emulate the leadership style of Jesus Christ.

He said that could be done by studying the word of God, which serves as the manual needed for one be outstanding.

“Be visionary leaders with realistic and achievable goals and servant leaders with humility so that you can excitedly serve as Christ did,” he said.

He further noted that a great leader must have the quality of being trustworthy with good human relation and the ability to provide equal opportunity to others to take up leadership roles.

He ended by encouraging the women to move to their various districts and local churches with the requisite skills and knowledge needed to be role models to their followers.

The Area Women’s Leader, Deaconess Priscilla Fosu, mentioned that there was a need for godly teachings to remind and encourage women leaders of their expected roles in the church, home and society.

There was a break out session, where the women were grouped to further discuss the theme as well as practical challenges they face and how to deal with them.

The Women’s Movement is hoping to hold another conference before the end of the year.
