Ashaiman NDC Warns Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama

SOME AGGRIEVED supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashaiman Constituency of the Greater Accra Region have threatened to vote against President John Dramani Mahama if he fails to bring his campaign tour to the area.

The party supporters, who call themselves as ‘Asanka Crackers For NDC,’ are angry that the president failed to appreciate their loyalty to the party by not coming to the constituency before the general election.

According to them, Ashaiman is known to be one of the strongholds of the ruling party and so there is the need for the president to visit the area to appreciate their allegiance.

They are therefore threatening ‘skirt and blouse’ voting against the president.

The NDC supporters expressed their rage in a protest against the president.

According to them, “We shall show him where power lies by voting against him or at best, will not come out in our numbers to vote.”

Leader of the group, Seidu Awudu, stated categorically, “We are not happy with the way the president is handling us in Ashaiman. He has decided to deliberately sideline us because he thinks this constituency is a safe haven for him; but if care is not taken, we shall show him that the people of Ashaiman cannot be taken for granted.”

He quizzed, “How can we be voting for the NDC every election year and the president, instead of appreciating us by at least paying us a visit and sharing his plans with us, is playing games with us?”
