Abena Osei-Asare

The Minister of State for Finance and Member of Parliament for Atiwa East Constituency in the Eastern Region, Abena Osei-Asare, has begun the engagement of churches in her constituency to campaign for the election of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next president.

Over the weekend, the Atiwa East MP visited 14 churches in 8 communities, namely: Abekoase, Sekyere, New Jejeti, Enyiresi, Moseaso, Anyinam, Asamang, and Ankaase respectively to preach the gospel of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to the congregations.

In her engagements, she noted that the 2024 flagbearer of NPP, Dr. Bawumia, has a proven track record and a vision to transform Ghana, adding that the candidate has promised to continue all the good policies initiated and implemented by the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government, pointing especially at the free SHS.

Abena Osei Asare added that the many infrastructural projects commenced by the Akufo-Addo government shall be continued and completed under Dr. Bawumia, while other life-changing social intervention policies initiated shall also be protected to bring relief to the citizenry.

Speaking on the achievements of the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Ms. Osei-Asare said Dr. Bawumia has discharged the duties imposed on him as Vice President creditably.

Dr. Bawumia as Vice President, she said, superintended over the digitalization of the country resulting in a “No Guarantor system for student loan applications,” the introduction of a medical drone delivery system, digitizing the operations of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), helping to reduce fraudulent claims, and eliminating bottlenecks associated with the enrollment and renewal of National Health Insurance membership, thus increasing access to health care by those who need the services most among other feats.

She indicated that the vision of Dr. Bawumia that has made life comfortable for Ghanaians would be brought to bear under his presidency, to transform Ghana.

As part of the campaign journey she also used the opportunity to honor 10 elderly women in each church on the Mothers’ Day celebrations.

They were presented with clothes and wall clocks as a token of deep appreciation for their love, sacrifice, and guidance.

In addition to this, she made a thanksgiving offering on behalf of all the mothers in these churches and also expressed gratitude to God for His continuous blessings and guidance.

Aside from that, she was joined by Seth Nketia, the Eastern Regional Director of Feeder Roads to embark on an inspection of the roads in Anyinam Township.

During the inspection, she had the opportunity to interact with the community members, and it was truly heartwarming to witness their enthusiasm.

She assured them that the construction of Anyinam town roads will commence very soon, to enhance mobility and convenience within the community.

Later on, she also visited the limited voter registration centers at Moseaso and Aworensu to witness the active participation of the youth as they register their names.
