Atuu Festival Of Arts To Showcase Talents

The Atuu Festival of Arts (AFA) is being organised to create opportunities for players in the creative industry to showcase their talents to the international community, organisers have disclosed.

The festival is expected create a platform to promote local music, artistes and their brands as well as music-related products on the international music market.

It is also aimed at promoting the diversity and uniqueness of Ghanaian music and culture, tourism, among others.

The festival will also allow citizens of different African countries to showcase their talents and skills through live musical performances. It will witness performances from over 50 respected artistes across the continent.

The maiden edition of the festival, which will be held in various parts of the country, will have various artists from all over the country to showcase indigenous Ghanaian culture.

According to the organisers, international music promoters, event organisers and artistes managers from across the world have been invited attend the event to look for music business opportunities.

“Our aim is to help Ghanaian and African music to grow internationally and we are happy we are making ample progress on that front,” one of the organisers told BEATWAVES.

Patrons who will have the opportunity to grace the festival will be treated to drama and cultural dance performances, musical concerts, exhibitions, workshops, live musical performances and among others.

The Atuu Festival of Arts kicks off today with a durbar of traditional rulers, creative arts practitioners, opinion leaders, state officials, media and the public in Sekondi.
