The Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led government has been working tirelessly to address these challenges, with a focus on sustainable and efficient solutions.
The Electric Bus Initiative
The introduction of electric buses marks a significant milestone in Ghana’s transportation history.
These eco-friendly vehicles will eliminate fuel costs, reduce maintenance expenses, and minimize environmental pollution.
Implementation Timeline
The initial phase of the project will see the deployment of 100 electric buses in major cities, including Accra, Kumasi, and Tamale.
The government plans to expand the fleet to 500 buses within the next two years.
Partnerships and Investments
The electric bus initiative is a collaborative effort between the government, private sector stakeholders, and international partners.
Significant investments have been made to establish charging infrastructure, training programs, and maintenance facilities.
