Black Sherif interacting with one of the patients
Mohammed Ismail Sharrif, known in the music scene as Black Sherif, has extended his generosity to mothers at the Nkrumah and Yebuah Wards of the 37 Military Hospital.
He donated large quantities of assorted items and made a full payment of their medical bills, which amounted to GH¢50,696.
The gesture reflects the guiding vision of the Mohammed Ismail Sharrif Foundation, the charitable organisation established by the Ghanaian superstar, which aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3.1, which seeks to reduce the global maternal mortality ratio and ensure that women have access to safe, quality maternal healthcare.
This isn’t the first philanthropic act: in January 2023, he settled medical bills for nursing mothers at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital and provided them with food, drinks and toiletries.
The Ghana Armed Forces praised the act as a step toward better maternal healthcare, aligning with UN goals to reduce mortality.
