Some artisans handling the tools
Bosch Power Tools, a division of the Bosch Group, which is the global supplier of technology and services, is holding a two-day equipment and tools show dubbed, ‘Tradesman Show’ in collaboration with the Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC).
The show, which opened last Wednesday, is in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of ATTC and also forms part of efforts by the company to ensure that graduates in the country have adequate tools to start their businesses.
According to Benjy Ofori, Regional Sales Director, West & Central Africa, it marks the beginning of the partnership between the two institutions, which will ensure capacity building for ATTC staff and students, as well as the supply of quality tools and equipment to students at flexible payment terms.
He revealed that “although Bosch Ghana is barely two years old in the country, we are happy to have 25 distributing outlets throughout the country, projecting our efforts at reaching out to our graduates from technical institutions with the latest engineering tools to enjoy a fulfilled life,” he stated.
Robert Bosch, one of the world’s leading providers of power tools after thorough research and detailed market analysis, has aligned its global brand with ATTC, he mentioned.
The Sales Director further mentioned that from November 2017 to March 2018, it’s expected to supply power tool packages ranging from GH¢300 to GH¢3000 to 5,000 artisans throughout the country on flexible payment arrangement through MTN and Vodafone pay systems.
The Principal of ATTC, Ernest Bediako Asare, lauded Bosch Ghana for the collaboration, which would help solve the unemployment situation in the country.
He averred that the centre offers 16 programmes to various categories of students and per its current upgrade, students with good grades have the option of applying to any of the country’s technical universities.
The principal also outlined a number of programmes for the Golden Jubilee cerebration which includes candle light procession, symposia, health walk and clean-up exercise.
