President Akufo-Addo has announced changes in certain key positions in his administration.
The President named Barbara Oteng Gyasi, Deputy Lands and Natural Resources Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Prestea Hunni Valley, as minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.
She replaces MP for Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira, Catherine Afeku, who has now been made a Minister of State at the Office of the President.
The President also named Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih as Upper West Regional minister-designate, while the former Regional Minister, Sulemana Alhassan, has been reassigned.
MP for Abuakwa North, Gifty Twum Ampofo, who was also the Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, is now Deputy Minister for Education while her colleague, Freda Prempeh, Deputy Minister for Works and Housing and MP for Tano North, heads to the Ministry for Gender, Children and Social Protection as deputy.
Deputy Minister for Education and MP for Cape Coast North, Barbara Ayisi Asher now heads to the Ministry of Works and Housing to replace Ms Prempeh.
Also on the list is the MP for Gomoa Central, Naana Eyiah, who has been nominated as the deputy minister-designate for Lands and Natural Resources while MP for Gomoa West, Alex Kodwo Kom Abban, has been nominated as the Deputy Minister for Health.
The President has also named the MP for Jaman South, Yaw Afful as Deputy Minister for Aviation.
A statement from the Presidency signed by Director of Communications Eugene Arhin said the changes took effect yesterday.
