Cocoa Life, a sustainability project by Mondelez International, a global cocoa buyer and producer of chocolate, has donated farm equipment worth GH?546,000.00 to 900 community animators from various farming districts where it operates.

The equipment, which were presented at the company’s head office in Accra, included torch lights, Wellington boots, goggles, record books, back packs, rain coats and other equipment to enhance the work of community animators.

Community animators serve as focal persons in their various communities who foster development on their farms and communities.

They also receive training and the needed tools to implement their activity plan.

Cocoa Life is focusing on some seven focal areas in Ghana to help farmers.

These include women empowerment, child protection, farming, community development, youth and the environment.

Animators are also trained to identify unusual happenings on their farms through observations and call extension officers to assist.

Yaa Peprah Amekudzi, country lead, Mondelez International Cocoa Life, advised the animators to carry out their work well in their communities and succeed with their plans.

President of community animators in Ghana, Charity Ofori, expressed joy and appreciation to the leadership of Cocoa Life for their various inputs and training to enhance the work of community animators.
