We Are Cursed …Says Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba says Manchester United’s players could be forgiven for thinking they are “cursed” following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with West Ham — their fourth successive Premier League stalemate at Old Trafford.

Pogba, 23, provided a sublime pass for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to head home United’s equaliser after Diafra Sakho’s second-minute opener for West Ham had silenced the home support.

Following games in which Stoke City, Burnley and Arsenal have all secured a draw at Old Trafford in recent weeks, Jose Mourinho’s side now have just 20 points after 13 games — their worst ever start to a Premier League season.

“We’re going to start to think we’re cursed,” Pogba told SFR Sport. “It doesn’t matter which team comes here, we dominate them, be it Arsenal or West Ham today. Our luck will change at one time or another, and it’s then that we’ll have to take it.”

“I’m still confident because we create chances. It’ll come. I’m confident in my team. We just have to pay attention to the small details. Today we conceded a daft goal, against Arsenal it was also the small details. I’m still confident, it’ll come right. We are dropping silly points, but it’ll come right.”

One bright spot for United on Sunday was the link between Pogba and Ibrahimovic. When the former Sweden captain made a run in behind the Hammers back four, Pogba sent a diagonal ball towards his teammate, who flicked a header beyond Darren Randolph.

“We find each other well,” the France international said after recording his first Premier League assist while his teammate moved onto seven goals from 12 top-flight outings. “Again today he had chances, he scored from one of my passes. All I wish for is that he continues scoring for the team and for himself.”
