Alhaji Sintaro Mahama presenting the items to Mr. Abdulai Fatawu at the Tamale Central Hospital
Dagbon Forum (DF), a youth association, has donated personal protective equipments (PPEs) to the Tamale Central Hospital in the Northern Region as part of efforts to stem the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).
Two municipal and nine district hospitals, the Gbewaa Palace, the Mion-Lana and Yoo-Naa palaces also benefitted from the PPEs.
The donated items included Veronica buckets, liquid soap, hand sanitizers and tissue rolls worth over GH¢10,000.
Alhaji Sintaro Mahama, the National Vice-President of DF, who presented the items on behalf of the group, said they were complementing government’s effort to contain the spread of Covid-19.
He called on all stakeholders in development to partner the government to work towards addressing the negative economic and social impact of Covid-19.
The Administrator of the Tamale Central Hospital, Abdulai Fatawu, on behalf of recipients, commended the Dagbon Forum for the gesture and said the items had come at the right time but said the hospital still needed more of such stuff.
He revealed that the hospital’s major challenge had been PPEs and that the items would be used for its intended purpose, and said the hospital attendance had drastically reduced due to Covid-19.
