It is a sad one for rising dancehall artiste Bastero, who lost his dad, Mr Ibrahim Munkaila Alhassan, last week Thursday.

The late Ibrahim was 63 and died in his Kumasi home a month after he took ill.

His burial ceremony will be held on Sunday, December 17 at his residence at Kumasi. Bastero is the fourth of his six children.

“It hurts to think that you are not here anymore. Although I can’t help but smile with tears in my eyes to think of how we cherished each and every moment of our lives together when you were alive. I miss you already daddy. Rest well till we meet again.

I will never forget the moment your heart stopped and mine kept beating. Oh daddy why …if love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. I love you daddy,” Basero said when he took to Facebook to announce his beloved father’s demise.

His father’s death followed that of actress Maame Serwaa, who also lost her mom last week.

Basero, born Abdul Basit Ibrahim, 26, is a dancehall artiste who is very popular among the youth in Accra Newtown. He has also made strides in the mainstream music arena.

He started his basic education at St John’s Primary School and then to Rashad Islamic JHS before continuing to  St John’s Senior High School, where he discovered his music talent.
