Captain of Damang Golf Club, Appiah Ayeh
Golfers across the country will this weekend battle for supremacy in the 2nd DHL Wassa Damanghene golf tourney at the Damang Golf Club.
Organizers of the two-day tournament have revealed that the 18 Hole event is in honour of the Wassa Damanghene, Nana Amoakwah III, and the Abokomahene, Nana Ampasi Bene Mireku I, known in private life as Mr Tony Aubynn.
It is expected to attract over 100 golfers from Takoradi, Nsuta, Beige Village, Damang, Tarkwa, Benso Oil Palm Plantation (BOPP), Bogoso, Obuasi and Samreboi.
Captain of Damang Golf Club, Pius Ayeh Appiah has stated that “The club is ready to host the competition and we are expecting an uncompromising competition this weekend.”
Also expected to grace the event as special guests are Mike Aggrey President of the Ghana Golf Association(GGA) and his Vice Mr Lee Mensah, former Ghana international Tony ‘Yegola’ Yeboah as well as owners of Tang Palace Hotel.
Preceding the event is a special developmental outreach program at Koduakrom to introduce golf to the students as efforts to ‘catch them young’.
The competition is being supported by Gold Fields Ghana Limited, DHL, IPMC, B5 Plus, Mospacka Company and Western Transport Service.
